This means you still have some fantastic options for a winter getaway in your home away from home. While touring/caravan holidays are on offer, there are alternative options at the Best of British Holiday Parks. With glamping on offer, holiday lodges and cottages available to rent, you don’t need to pack lots of equipment. It couldn’t be simpler this autumn and winter.

Parkland in Devon is a small adults only park with just 38 fully serviced pitches in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Three acres of mature landscaped grounds await at this South Devon spot. There are views toward Salcombe and rolling countryside toward Dartmoor. This is an AA five star, platinum, site.

Watch out for the visiting hedgehogs, the local pheasant and if you’re lucky, the barn owl. Two heated amenity buildings service the site all with free constant hot water. Fully tiled ‘hotel style’ washrooms, each with toilet, washbasin and large shower or bath.

Nestled on the Jurassic Coast, Highlands End in Dorset is a multi award winning park that won the 2022 South West Holiday Park Of The Year Award. Glamping options are luxurious! The South West Coast Path runs past the park. You can head into the fishing village of West Bay (featured in ITV’s Broadchurch) or towards Eype Beach.

There are excellent facilities for touring, motorhomes and tents and a choice of hard-base, gravel or grass pitches. Some pitches are open all year round. There is a dog exercising meadow and dog shower for your canine companion.

Poston Mill Touring Park has an on-site restaurant and is only a bus journey away from Hay-on-Wye and Hereford. Eye Kettleby Lakes is a luxury family-run fishery and holiday park set across 150 acres of the rolling Leicestershire countryside. On site you will find log cabins, coarse fishing lakes, glamping pods, a touring site and a clubhouse. There are 2 specimen carp lakes, 6 mixed coarse fishing lakes, 8 luxury adult only south facing glamping pods, 12 luxury log cabins, 130 pitches (adult only), a clubhouse with a tearoom, bar and lounge area. The park has a warm doggy shower and walking enclosure. It is situated just three miles from Melton Mowbray, a historic market town.

 

Set in attractive undulating tree-fringed land close to Shrewsbury town centre, Oxon Hall is well situated for visiting Ironbridge and the Welsh Marches. While family friendly, there is an adult only area. Getting into nearby Shrewsbury is really easy – there’s a park-and-ride facility right next door.

If you’d prefer to stay at the park, you can make use of the numerous and high-quality facilities which include a heated toilet and shower block, laundry room and vegetable prep room. There is also a well-stocked shop selling both food and caravan accessories.

An idyllic caravan park and campsite in Somerset for adults only, Waterrow Touring Park is set in a beautiful wooded valley close to Exmoor, the Quantocks and the Somerset and North Devon coastlines. This is an attractively landscaped touring park, catering for caravans, motorhomes, campervans and trailer tents. Each spacious, all weather, pitch benefits from views of the surrounding countryside, shrub screening, electric hook up and TV connection point.

Bath Chew Valley Caravan Park in Somerset is a uniquely peaceful park based on a garden theme, with pitches set amongst mature lawns and shrubs. The park is within 800 metres of a championship flyfishing lake, the surrounding country park is a haven for bird-watchers and walkers. All pitches have electric hook-ups, and the toilets and showers have been refurbished to a very high standard, in the style of individual “en suite” units and are heated in the winter. The park has a luxury cedar lodge, set at the edge of the woodland which is available to hire. The park is close to Bath with its historic spa and shops.

Cartref Caravan and Camping is an award-winning park, located in beautiful countryside, just 5 miles from the historic town of Shrewsbury. Providing the perfect base to explore Shropshire, the Welsh borders and Chester. The picturesque Shropshire Hills are only 10 minutes away. Explore the towns of Ironbridge, Ludlow, and Ellesmere – all with unique shops and attractions. You can also enjoy a drink in the onsite bar, so there’s not far to travel on those colder days! All pitches are fully serviced and have privacy hedgerows. They welcome dogs and have an enclosed exercise area. Cartref is for adults only.

Hidden Valley is a beautiful touring caravan and holiday park located in a pretty wooded valley close to North Devon’s pristine beaches. Woolacombe and The Tunnels beaches, both of which are Blue Flag and Quality Coast Award winners, lie just 4 miles away. A coffee shop and restaurant overlook Hidden Valley’s lake and gardens, a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a tasty Devon cream tea after a walk in the woodlands. The site shop is fully licensed and well stocked with a wide variety of camping and caravanning essentials, as well as a bounty of local Devon produce.

Ord House Country Park boasts 5 star touring pitches. There are large pitches available, all hardstanding and you’ll have the choice of electric hook up or fully serviced. Situated in a woodland setting, close to the beautiful Northumberland countryside and within walking distance to Berwick Upon Tweed.

Ord House Lounge Bar & Grill serve delicious meals with a great range of drinks from a fully licensed bar. There’s an indoor soft play area to keep little ones entertained and an Adults Only lounge when you want a little peace and quiet.

Stretton Lakes is situated in 120 acres of farmland in the county of Rutland. Six fishing lakes have been created over the past 40 years to create an idyllic setting surrounded by woodland and open farmland. The lakes support a huge range of flora and fauna.

The park is situated between the market towns of Stamford and Oakham both only 7 miles away Oakham is famous for Rutland water with a 25 mile circular cycle track, Rutland water has an international reputation for sailing, trout fishing and bird watching.
