About this park
Whitefield Forest Touring Park on the Isle of Wight is an award winning friendly family run site.
Situated in a tranquil forest setting just outside of the coastal town of Ryde. We have a mix of traditional grass and all weather hard standing pitches, all with electric hook up and some of which are fully serviced with water and grey waste disposal, allowing us to cater for caravans, motorhomes and tents.
We welcome families, couples and dogs to our site from which our beautiful Island can be discovered and enjoyed. We are close to the sandy beaches of Ryde and Sandown and well-located for visitors to explore any part of the Island. There is a good bus route on the main road just outside the site for campers who want to leave their car or motorhome behind for the day.
Our amenities block includes toilets, showers, privacy cubicles, family washrooms, disabled facilities, a washing machine and tumble dryer as well as washing-up areas. There is a children’s play area within the woods, a woodland walk around the perimeter of the site and many walks and cycle tracks outside of the site allowing guests to enjoy the local countryside.

I can highly recommend this site, bathroom facilities are excellent, bus services for access all over the island very dependable and frequent, site well managed and convenient location. Would definitely stay here again.
We were delighted with our stay at Woodpecker Hideout. The lodge is super cosy, with the log burner and underfloor heating. Everything was immaculately clean and well presented. It suited us perfectly and was a great location for attractions, the large Tesco and quiet walks with our dog. Just perfect
What a fantastic site this is. We arrived on the Island on the Saturday booked onto another site originally. When we arrived at the other site we were very disappointed and decided to look for somewhere else to stay. We knew it would be tricky at such short notice as we were on the island for 8 nights. We saw the sign for Whitefied forest and decided to pull in. When we explained to the wardens our situation they could honestly not do enough for us to get us a pitch. Alongside the owners also. We had 4 nights on one pitch and moved to another pitch for the remaining 4 nights. The site is fantastic and very quite and peaceful. The facilities are excellent and spotlessly clean and very up to date. There is a bus stop right outside on both sides of the road so we bought a weekly bus travel ticket and went all over the island which was excellent. We have already recommended this site to friends so we will absolutely be back here whenever we visit Isle of Wight again. Thank you to the wardens and owners for a lovely stay. Wendy and Gordon
Really lovely stay at Red Squirrel Lodge. The lodge is very well equipped with everything you need for your stay. Seeing red squirrels right outside our front door was a fab added bonus!
The first time on a campsite, good deal with Red Funnel Ferries. On arrival the site looked well set up, and a few days in, it did not disappoint, we were situated at the back of the site, and it was lovely and peaceful, showers/toilets are excellent, immaculately clean. Lovely little woodland walk around the campsite. If we ever come back to Isle of Wight, we will come back here.
Woodpecker's retreat is an ideal lodge for relaxing and exploring the Isle of Wight. There is a woodburner with limitless wood that makes a winter visit super cosy.
