Craigtoun Meadows is a beautiful, quiet park surrounded by woodland. It is situated on the outskirts of the historic town of St Andrews and close to the Old Course which is arguably the most famous course in the golfing world. The golf course is next to the West Sands beach, famous for the opening and closing scenes of the film Chariots of Fire. The beach extends for almost 2 miles and is backed with dunes and nearby you can find the British Golf Museum and ruins of the Castle and Cathedral.
The park is rated 5 star by Visit Scotland and a 5 pennant Platinum rated park by the AA.. Craigtoun Meadows has been awarded AA Campsite of the Year for Scotland on 4 separate occasions, the latest being in 2016. In 2012 the park won the Scottish Caravanner's Magazine Park of the Year and has also won the David Bellamy Gold Conservation Award for 18 consecutive years.
All of the touring pitches at Craigtoun Meadows are hardstanding, fully serviced and close to the parks 5 star amenities. Patio pitches are also available and come with space for awnings as well as a storage hut and small patio area with table and chairs.
Craigtoun Meadows has an impressive hire fleet with a range of caravan holiday homes and lodges to choose from. All of the hire accomodation is fully furnished with gas central heating and double glazing, creating a cosy place to relax after a busy day exploring. Glamping is also available in the parks 'little lodges', which are a great option for groups looking to try something a bit different.
There is plenty to do within the parks grounds, with a play area, sports court, zip slide, grass football pitch and putting green. There is also a games room with pool tables and arcade games to keep the children entertained.
During your stay why not explore further afield and take the opportunity to complete one of the numerous coastal walks. The park is well placed for visiting local fishing villages such as Crail and Anstruther and is less than 15 miles from Dundee, the City of Discovery and home to the new V&A museum.
