*New for 2024* Stretton Lakes Touring Park in Rutland
We are delighted to confirm that Stretton Lakes Touring Park in Rutland has joined the Best of British Holiday Parks Group. An adults only holiday park, the site was graded 5 star Gold by Visit England. We are thrilled to expand our offering into the beautiful (and small!) county of Rutland in the East Midlands.
The park is owned by Rowland and Rachel Needham, who have lived on site since 2002. They developed the holiday lodges in 2008 and the park became a touring site recently. All pitches are lakeside with south facing views over the lakes and the Rutland countryside beyond. All pitches are superior with hard standing.
Rutland Water is a stunning inland expanse of water, perfect for water sports, wildlife spotting, bird watching and walking. There are pretty villages, idyllic views, quaint cottages and interesting towns surrounding the immediate area. Stamford is certainly worth a visit for its stunning architecture.
Rutland Water is just perfect throughout the year and as
Stretton Lakes is open all year round, you can visit at any time of the year, experiencing the seasons!
Stretton Lakes offers free fishing on 7 coarse fishing lakes to all touring park guests so it’s ideal if you like to stay on site to fish and watch the world go by. There are 26 pitches set on 120 acres of farmland. Dogs are welcome and there are many local dog walks available.
If you’re planning on travelling to a holiday far from home, and you’re travelling on the A1,
Stretton Lakes is a tiny diversion, perfect for a pit stop to break up the journey. It is equally enjoyable for a longer stay to explore the East Midlands.
The team has created a stunning shower block built to 5 star standards, where there are 6 individual private shower rooms, with rainfall showers, oak wash stands with raised stone basins. Our canine companions have their own washing facilities too!
Washing machines and tumble dryers are available for your use.
The park is surrounded by woodland and footpaths offering many different walking routes, excellent for dog walks. Stretton Wood is 100 acres to the north of the site and George Henry Wood (80 acres) is between the site and Stretton village. The woodlands are teeming with fallow deer often seen grazing the site.
There are two excellent award winning pubs within walking distance from the touring park; The Jackson Stops in Stretton village, and the Olive Branch in Clipsham village.
