Holidaying at home has never been more popular. In light of Covid-19, the Best of British holiday parks have put in place a number of health and safety measures to ensure you feel secure and comfortable during your stay. Here are some great examples of how the Best of British member parks are playing their part.

1. Concierge Camping, West Sussex

Concierge Camping in Chichester have gone above and beyond with the unique en-suite 'pitch pods', which can be added to your stay should you wish to book one. At a time when everyone would prefer their own facilities, what could be better than having your own en-suite on your very own touring or motorhome pitch! The new luxury feature comes with complimentary toiletries too, so if shared facilities is a concern, try a 'pitch pod' at Concierge!

2.  Trethem Mill, Cornwall

Trethem Mill, near Truro, have put in place a new pitch changeover process, which has become second nature since they re-opened on 4th July. They have received some encouraging comments on their Facebook page complimenting them on their new procedures to ensure they are Covid-19 compliant:

"We had a wonderful stay last week. Very impressed with your COVID organisation and we felt comfortable, relaxed and safe. Thank you."

"All of your Covid precautions are going well. It’s lovely being here – particularly like all of the strategically placed hand sanitiser dispensers. All very reassuring and helpful."

3.  The Old Oaks, Glastonbury

The team at The Old Oaks have a new mantra for their visitors for when they depart their pitch: 'keys, phone, money, mask'! As face coverings are now a requirement in a number of indoor settings, the team are keen that everyone carries one to ensure they can go to all the local attractions, including the park reception and shop. We can assure you the team are smiling here, it's sometimes tricky to tell! They also had intensive cleaning training prior to re-opening at the beginning of July.

4. Plassey Leisure Park, Wrexham

Plassey Leisure Park make it very clear from the get-go that they are Covid-19 secure and are committed to staying that way. All staff are temperature checked prior to starting shifts, social distancing markers are abundant and staff are all well versed in their new way of working. Laid out in the form of their charter, this builds confidence with visitors who know that their choice of holiday location is ensuring the health and wellbeing of visitors and staff.

5. Bath Chew Valley, Bath

Bath Chew Valley Caravan Park have been exceptionally busy creating their Covid-19 secure arrival at the park, which is contact free. There is no need to get out of your vehicle, the team unhitch and place caravans on their pitch while visitors can drive over to unload. Additionally, the individual hotel style shower rooms/toilets have an intensive cleaning regime. They have also offered an outdoor large display option to view the pertinent information, rather than use the wifi kiosks inside.

6. Eye Kettleby Lakes, Melton Mowbray

Eye Kettleby Lakes in Leicestershire wasted no time during lockdown and made some changes to some of the best known features of the park. While these are not specifically Covid-19 related, they do add to the outdoor experience and options for being in the fresh air! The railway bridge had a makeover and what a beautiful view it provides through the archway! They didn't stop with the railway bridge, they created a petanque area too – perfect for a game during the warm evenings of summer.
