This year's touring season was cut short due to lockdown, so winter looks like it's going to be very busy for caravan sites and holiday parks across the UK. With this in mind many parks have made arrangements to extend their season, offering visitors the chance to enjoy a UK staycation during the winter months. Whilst some of the Best of British holiday parks already open year round, a number of parks have plans to open through December and into the New Year. An unusual year has resulted in the increased desire for winter breaks, and where better than an independent, family owned holiday park to enjoy a touring, holiday home or glamping stay.

Below are a list of some of the Best of British holiday parks who will be extending their opening to allow for winter getaways this year.

Lincoln Farm Park, Oxfordshire

Lincoln Farm Park, based in Witney, have extended their opening times to include Christmas and the New Year and will close on 3rd January. However, they will only be closed for a month, before re-opening again on 5th February 2021. They currently have an offer for 30% off bookings in November and December 2020. The team are ready and waiting to judge their 'Best Dressed Pitch' for Halloween and are looking forward to welcoming guests for Christmas. If you happen to get some snow, we can confirm it makes the park look even more beautiful!

Located very close to Oxford city centre and the Cotswolds, you'll be spoilt for choice for places to visit during a winter getaway at Lincoln Farm Park. If you'd rather stay close to the site, The Black Horse pub at Standlake is highly recommended by the park.

After a recent inspection by Visit England, Lincoln Farm Park received five stars and a gold award. The AA have also given the park a platinum award as well as an award for South East Park of the Year. Th team look forward to welcoming you for a winter break!

Highlands End Holiday Park, Dorset

Demand has meant that Highlands End will be open until the end of December for holiday home rentals, and right throughout November for motorhome and touring guests. Dorset is at its most calm and tranquil in the winter, without the buzz of tourists. Many visitors who holidayed at the park in the summer are re-booking for a winter staycation, where they will discover crisp and fresh beach and cliff-top walks, fossil hunting, winter storm watching and stargazing.

The modern caravan holiday homes come with full heating and insulation to ensure you stay warm and cosy during the colder winter months. Motorhomes are proving popular and are seen as a good option for winter.

The Old Oaks Touring Park, Somerset

If you want to wake up to some spectacular views near Glastonbury Tor, The Old Oaks could be the park for you. An adult only holiday park, it offers 5 star amenities in a blissful setting. Views of the Mendip Hills, coupled with peace, quiet and abundant wildlife, make this is a park for a real winter escape. You can walk for miles, cycle, fish, sightsee or simply relax. For one year only, the park will remain open throughout Christmas 2020, and will close in November 2021!
