South Wales, home to stunning beaches, beautiful countryside and Cardiff, the capital city of Wales, is a perfect place to go on holiday, whether you're looking for a family friendly destination, a romantic getaway, or breath-taking scenery for a walking trip.
A visit to Cardiff is a must if you're in the South of Wales; small enough to be friendly, but with all the benefits of being a capital city, Cardiff can boast a vibrant live music scene, a great selection of shops and restaurants, perfect for mid holiday shopping trips, and a good range of tourist friendly activities.
There's plenty to do outside of the cities as well though; the South Wales coastline is incredible, with miles of beaches to choose from, perfect for campers and those with a love of the great outdoors. To the west the Pembrokshire Coast National Park has 186 miles of coastal paths. Here you can enjoy a number of watersports, wildlife and history. All surrounded by scenic beaches, coves and cliffs. Make sure you keep a look out for the dolphins of Cardigan Bay. When you’re ready to relax after exploring the area, there are plenty of cosy pubs and stunning sunsets to take in.
The Welsh valleys provide an interesting glimpse into social history, with several former mines now functioning as museums, allowing for an alternative day out. There's so much to explore in South Wales, making it perfect for all types of holiday.
