First time at Townsend holiday park, following a recommendation. On arrival you check-in inside the shop/butchers which is also the reception. You then drive up a small incline and reach the park. We had brilliant pitches right by the lake, which was great for my dad and husband to fish all day and not be too far away. Pitches are level which is great and bonus is that each pitch has a water point right next to you. We were allowed to pitch however we wanted to as long as we were 6 metres apart from our neighbours which is fine. Everyone respecting the rule and pitching/parking up sensibly. All.dogs kept on leads and there is a dog run which is great. There is also a small play park for the kids and bike trails in the woods. I wouldn't say much about the supposedly pump track they advertise as there isn't really one, I guess I was expecting a bike track in an enclosed arena. But there are small bumps created in the trail woods. Fishing was great and some big carp caught by our party. There is a pool room with sofas and a TV which we used most nights and had a few games, 50p per game. Toilets and showers are great and kept clean. Small walk to the village, two lovely pubs, unfortunately one finished serving food mid afternoon and the other was fully booked so we didn't eat but sat and had a nice few drinks on the beer garden at the red lion. Morrisons and Aldi are also only 12 minutes drive away. We also visited Croft Castle and Berrington Hall, both National Trust sites and again only 15 minutes drive. Purchased some burgers from the butchers on site as they were recommended on other reviews, and they are delicious. We will definitely be returning next year and stay for longer than 4 days.
