What could be better at this time of year than to get away from the hustle and bustle of the run up to Christmas and take in a short winter holiday break in a lodge. The appeal of waking up on a crisp wintry morning in your own cosy space away from home is obvious – so why not escape the mayhem of Christmas shopping and spend some quality time with your loved ones.

Lodge holidays at this time of year can be quite magical. As the temperature drops, and we experience the first frosts a secluded holiday retreat with your own hot tub thrown in makes for an ideal romantic break before the festivities begin.

Did we say hot tubs!

Yes, we most certainly did.

There’s nothing quite like a soak in the hot tub to put the sparkle into a romantic break. Just the two of you, a bottle of Prosecco and a luxurious warm hot tub beneath the stars; what could be better, or more romantic?

Most of the self-catering lodge accommodation have their own hot tubs – and for many people that is the highlight of their holiday. There is something rather special about lying back in your own warm hot tub, glass of something in hand and watching the night around you. Although they are great at any time of the year, a hot tub feels particularly indulgent when its cold outside and you stay luxuriously warm.

All of the lodges on the Best of British holiday parks in UK are designed to make you feel snug and content – with many having all the luxuries of home and some even feature under-floor heating and log burning stoves. Whether you want a romantic break for two, or a family holiday, a stay in a lodge offers the perfect escape.

If you are looking to venture out don’t forget to pack your wellies, a hat and scarf and make sure you layer up – and you are all set for a great winter break. A wander around the countryside in winter can be most rewarding – knowing that you have a lovely warm lodge to go back to when you have finished.
