Yay! The weather is getting warmer, the days are getting longer and the camping season is nearly upon us.
Easter is traditionally the time when most people venture out for their first caravan holiday or camping trip of the year and it looks like we are in for a treat weather wise. If the weather forecasters are anything to go by it looks like being a warm and dry Easter break – so fingers crossed.
This time of year is also when the main camping shows take place and the manufacturers and holiday parks show off their shiny new models and exciting holiday ideas for the year ahead.
As with any industry the camping and caravans sector loves to push the boundaries and deliver a great holiday experience, so here’s a few fantastic holiday opportunities you can expect to see around the Best of British Holiday Parks this year.
If you fancy a glamping trip with a rural theme, then taking a break in a Shepherd Huts may be the perfect recipe for your next short break. Traditionally used by shepherds watching their flock during lambing season, the basic shepherd hut designs have been taken and given a modern twist.
With sleeping for four, kitchen area and a smart TV, shepherds have never had it so good!
These delightful, self-contained units are hand-built and furnished to a very high standard. Step inside to discover all the little luxuries you'll need for your countryside getaway, including a beautiful shower room with basin and toilet, kitchen facilities, with belfast sink, solid oak worktops, microwave, full-sized fridge, electric hob, kettle, toaster, and all your kitchen necessities.
You will also find a TV and plenty of sockets and USB points, to charge your devices, while you relax on the double, drop-down wall bed, or enjoy lunch at the dining table. In the evening, why not toast your marshmallows by the firepit and gaze at the stars?
The Shepherd Huts sited at Old Oaks Caravan Park come with another glamping must-have – a beautiful Scandinavian style, wood-fired hot tub. What could be more romantic than sipping a glass of wine in your very own 'Love Tub' in the moonlight?

Ever fancied taking to the open road and experiencing life as a Romany traveller might have done? Well now you can – but just with that added touch of luxury. Romany caravan breaks are just some of the new holiday accommodation types that have now been added to the glamping scene for 2017.
These beautifully painted, handcrafted bowtop caravans are perfect to experience the real romance of staying in a traditional gypsy home. And it doesn’t matter what time of year you try one out – as these caravans offer the best of both worlds; cool and open in the summer, warm and cosy in the winter.
They come fitted to the highest specification, each one is hand built by craftsmen, featuring a full size double and two single beds, insulated oak floor and electric log burner. You will also find a TV and DVD player, refrigerator, sockets with USB points, a two-ring electric hob and hob kettle. Combine all this with beautiful upholstery and a wooden deck complete with garden furniture, and your Romany Caravans experience is complete.

The must have accessory for any holiday this year has to be the hot tub. Take a dip, bubble and steam away the stresses of your 9 to 5 job in your own private hot tub.
Picture yourself spending a sunny morning bubbling before breakfast or while away an hour under the stars with a glass of something. From romantic couples watching the sunset go down to busy families looking to relax at the end of a busy beach day a hot tub is perfect for everyone.
Look out for the hot tub experience at Beverley Holiday Park and other BoB parks.
If you are looking for the full on glamping experience then you can’t go wrong with the new Bell Tents.
Built from natural cotton canvas and usually around 5 metres in diameter, Bell tents are surprisingly roomy. With plenty of headroom they provide a palatial camping experience for two and enough breathing space to accommodate a family of four or a groups of friends.
They are perfect for a romantic escape from the pressures of every day life when you simply want to get away from it all or a bunk down with a group of friends and enjoy a short break away.
If you have never experienced bell tent camping before, the benefits are not just in their size. Sleeping under natural cotton canvas is a completely different experience to a standard polyester tent. You will probably find you sleep much better as the breathable nature of the material, together with the big vents allows the air to circulate throughout the tent.
These Bell tents are pure glamping and are usually furnished to a high standard that you would expect to find on a five star caravan and camping park. You can expect to find the luxuries of a double bed, day bed, garden furniture, a separate kitchen (fridge/freezer, cooker, microwave, toaster, kettle) and dining area, BBQ and even firepit.
Look out for the new Stargazer tents that are popping up at some of the BoB parks. They are extra special as they have a clear roof allowing you to make the most of the amazing night skies – all from the comfort of your cosy camp bed!

We think the new style Safari Lodges will be a popular choice of accommodation this year. Made from solid wood and luxury cotton canvas these lodges set a new standard in glamping and certainly won’t disappoint.
On the outside the lodges resemble something straight out of an African safari expedition, with exposed timber frames and a hardy canvas exterior. There’s an outside deck with luxury patio furniture – the prefect place to while away a couple of hours at the end of the day with a glass of wine and a good book.
Inside you are in for a few surprises. Take your shoes off and you will immediately notice the underfloor heating, perfect to take the chill off as the night draws in. The kitchen area is designed with a state of the art range cooker and you have all the luxuries of a fridge, freezer and dishwasher to help lighten the load just that little bit.
Venture in to one of the bedrooms and you will be met with a few high-tech niceties, from remote controlled window blinds to a discreet Bluetooth speaker system.
And did we mention the bathroom? Well this is most definitely boutique hotel bathroom style. No porta-loos here – you will find an overhead rain shower, backlit mirror and a proper plumbed in WC. Luxury towels and complimentary toiletries ensure you have a great stay.
