Carnglaze Caverns and Gardens

Offering one of Cornwall and Devon’s very best underground experiences, visit the former slate mine to experience where slate was both quarried and mined in Cornwall. Gain insight into the miners’ ingenuity and skills and see how slate roofed the Industrial Revolution. Enjoy it all at your own pace with the self-guided tour to learn how the mine was worked. The tour ends at the Underground Lake with its crystal clear blue/green water. 

In addition to the the underground caverns, Carnlaze offers a wonderful Woodland Walk suitable for the entire family. Take a strole through the Terrace Garden along its zigzag pathways leading up to the Enchanted Dell. Follow the Woodland Walk through Quarry Wood which has around four acres of bluebells in Spring!  

Picnic in the Walled Garden, browse the well-stocked Crystals and Crafts Shop and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. A truly great day out for all of the family.
