The Orchards, a top-rated Isle of Wight holiday park, says that its new accessible-to-all holiday caravan is proving a major attraction - to guests both with and without mobility problems.
The Orchards holiday park in Newbridge, which was named as the AA's "Regional Campsite of the Year" in 2015, commissioned the luxury-specification holiday home this summer.
Its features are especially suitable for wheelchair users, and include plenty of space to manoeuvre, wide sliding doors to all of the rooms, and an adapted disabled-friendly bathroom,
There is also a gently sloping ramp to the entrance of the 38 foot by 12 foot holiday caravan which has two bedrooms, a fully-equipped kitchen, double glazing and central heating.
Julie Gray, who with her husband Tim took on The Orchards 12 years ago, says the unit has won many plaudits from guests for providing truly practical answers to mobility issues.
But the holiday home, she says, is also proving extremely popular with other holidaymakers who simply enjoy the sense of spaciousness and its generously sized bedrooms.
Julie says the park received a record number of enquiries this year after it received a clutch of awards starting with the AA's best regional campsite accolade.
The Orchards' next triumph came when the readers of top-selling magazines Practical Caravan and Practical Motorhome voted it their favourite place to stay in Great Britain.
The next award came when botanist David Bellamy declared The Orchards as the winner of his prestigious conservation award at its top gold level for the eighteenth successive year.
But the accolades didn't stop there, for the park was once again flushed with success when it was presented with the 2015 Loo of the Year Award.
Bordering an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the park provides camping, touring caravan and motorhome pitches with spectacular views across the island's gentle countryside.
There are also luxury caravan holiday homes to hire, and facilities including heated indoor and outdoor pools, a coffee shop, mini-supermarket and activity games areas.
As well as being a member of Best of British, the Orchards is also affiliated to the Caravan Club, and has achieved a Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor based on the many glowing reviews submitted by guests.
