St Andrews golf course is known as the home of golf and is considered one of the best courses in the world. The club is 600 years old and has played host to some of the biggest names in golf. There are 7 courses open to the public and 3 clubhouses, where you can enjoy a post game meal. The iconic ‘Old Course’ remains incredibly popular and is bookable by ballot only.
Teignmouth Golf Club was designed by golf legend, Dr Alistair Mackenzie and opened in 1924. The 18-hole links course occupies an enviable position on the south Devon Coast and is situated 8000 ft above sea level. The clubhouse enjoys and elevated position enabling far-reaching views to Portland Bill in Dorset on a clear day.
Oswestry Golf Club is an excellent venue for year round golfing. The parkland course was designed by James Baird and boasts two tier greens, which are a trademark of his designs. The beautiful tree lined fairways make for a scenic game. The staff are incredibly welcoming to visitors and societies.
Ferndown Golf Club is a 27-hole heathland course set amongst beautiful grounds. It has been voted in the top 3% of courses in the world and has held a number of prestigious competitions over the years, including the Hennessy Cognac Cup. Due to the clubs popularity some courses are restricted to visitors on the weekends.
Shanklin and Sandown is a par 70 course and considered one of the best on the Isle of Wight. Visitors are welcome throughout the year and can enjoy the use of the excellent facilities including the clubhouse, which serves a range of seasonal produce locally sourced from around the island. One to one lessons from a PGA qualified golfing professional are available to help you refine your skills.
Kings Lynn Golf club is one of the most scenic courses in Norfolk. The tree-lined course is immaculately maintained and pristine lawns make for an excellent round. There are numerous practice facilities available for visitors to use, including a driving range as well as a dedicated area to practice your short game. In the indoor ‘Swing Studio’ there is a golf simulator and launch monitor, ideal for practicing your swing when the weather stops play.
