Here's a little about us, and why you should consider a holiday park staycation!
1. Privately Owned Holiday Parks
All our parks are privately owned and are usually family run too, it is a condition of our membership. We pride ourselves on friendly teams, independent ownership and the parks being part of the local community. The team photographed here are from Trethem Mill in Cornwall. It is owned and run by three generations of the same family; Ian, Jane, Derek (Ian's dad) and their son Jake. They are joined by Theo who has worked with them for many years. Thus, it's a homely feel at this Cornwall based park.
Tracey and Guy at Concierge Camping in West Sussex purchased the Ratham Estate in 2011 and transformed a 4 acre meadow into a luxury touring park. They offer complete luxury and guests know that they will find personalised service and the best facilities for campers, tourers and glampers. 2. Five Star Rated Accommodation
Whether you are camping, touring, glamping or staying in a holiday cottage at one of the parks, be assured the accommodation has been independently verified as being exceptional. Above is Bath Chew Valley Caravan Park in Somerset, all ready to welcome camping, touring and glamping guests.
Our criteria for membership is very specific and members are invited to join Best of British by invitation. Accommodation must be five star rated, with holiday parks achieving the highest level of rating from the Tourist Board and the AA Pennant Scheme. Basically, the best of the best. These independent ratings provide visitors with assurances that their choice of holiday venue has been inspected and rated accordingly.

3. Award Winning
It's natural that 5 star holiday parks win awards, and our parks have won a whole host of them! From local Tourist Board awards to the David Bellamy Conservation Awards, our parks proudly display their award badges on their pages on our website. And we haven't even mentioned 'Loo Of The Year' – something very important for our camping friends! Above is Eye Kettleby Lakes in Leicestershire who recently were announced the overall winner in the Top 100 Sites Guide 2021. In fact, more than half of the Best of British Parks made the list, with a number of parks making the 'best' of the regional competition.
4. Individual In Nature
Best of British holiday parks do not need to conform to group operating standards – the only standard is quality. We encourage individuality and strive to provide you with a choice of parks that are located in stunning areas, traditional holiday hotspots and places you perhaps hadn't thought of visiting before.

Or, if you're in Dorset, you could consider Highlands End Holiday Park with their glamping lodges. Stunning scenery, unique accommodation.
5. Dog Friendly Parks
It's not just humans we like to accommodate, family of the canine variety are welcome at almost all our parks too for a dog friendly holiday. Many have specialist dog washes, to ensure your furry friend doesn't return to your tent or caravan with muddy paws! Some parks have fully enclosed or separate dog walking areas and all our parks can provide local knowledge of walks both from the park itself and further afield. Our furry friend looks happy at Ross Park in Devon! And at Bath Chew Valley Caravan Park in Somerset, Pup's Parade is a popular place to be!
6. Child Friendly Parks
42 of our holiday parks are child friendly, offering fantastic memory making holidays with the children. Focussed on providing excellent holiday experiences for those of all ages. Parks such as Hendra Holiday Park in Newquay are perfectly set up for family entertainment, Plassey Leisure Park in Wrexham have a Welsh castle adventure playground and Polmanter Touring Park in St Ives have a softplay area. Each park is different, but there is so much to offer.
7. Adult Only Parks
But if you'd prefer an adult only tranquil break, 12 of our parks offer child free holiday locations. Old Oaks Touring and Glamping Park in Glastonbury is well known for providing peaceful holidays in the beautiful Somerset countryside. Our friends at Trethem Mill Touring Park in Cornwall have recently made the announcement they are changing to adults only after many years of welcoming families. If you're looking for a slightly quieter holiday experience, we have a selection of parks to consider.
8. Board of Directors
The Best of British Board of Directors are all holiday park owners themselves! They oversee the business of Best of British, ensuring we meet our standards and maintain our quality offering. They all do so on a voluntary basis. Our current Board contains Directors from the following parks: Hidden Valley Park in Devon, Bath Chew Valley in Somerset, Long Acres in Lincolnshire, The Old Oaks in Glastonbury and Hendra in Newquay (pictured below).
