Holiday Park Staycations in 2021 - What To Look Forward To!

Holidaying at home has always been popular, but we think demand for domestic travel will soar in 2021. With so much uncertainty surrounding foreign travel, many families will choose to holidaying closer to home instead. Staycations are a fantastic way to discover the beauty on your doorstep, or explore regions a little further afield. Our award-winning holiday parks across England Scotland and Wales are a fantastic base from which to enjoy leisurely walks, relaxing beach days or fun-filled days in nearby town and cities.

With the New Year fast approaching we thought we'd show you all the things you can look forward to during a holiday park staycation in 2021. Whether you prefer countryside holidays, coastal breaks, traditional touring and camping or want to experience a glamping break, here's what the Great British holiday can offer you.

1. Forest Walks

Walking through forests enables you to explore spectacular habitats while getting a healthy dose of fresh air at the same time. The Forestry Commission has plenty of locations across the UK, where you can enjoy woodland walks, sculpture trails and wildlife spotting. Forests have long been seen as a haven for peace and quiet. The Japanese use 'forest bathing' as a wellbeing relaxation method. So why not take their ethos and take a walk in the forest to boost your health and wellbeing, which is more important now than ever before.

2. Nature Reserves

You are only ever a short distance from a nature reserve and the variety on offer with The Wildlife Trust makes Britain a great place to holiday if you love the great outdoors. With 2,300 diverse and beautiful nature reserves, wildlife is protected and wild plants and animals can thrive. The variety on offer will mean you are spoiled for choice when visiting a Best of British holiday park. From lakes, rivers, woodland, meadows, urban parks, hills, heathland, marshes and the coastline, you will find most nature reserves free to enter and an inexpensive day out.

3. Reservoir Walks

Reservoirs are large natural or artificial lakes to store water, and this makes them perfect for walking locations! Often flat and with parking and identified walking routes, they are great options for circular walks, and many have cycling routes too. If you like water sports, you could head to Rutland Water in the smallest county in the UK, Rutland. Here you can enjoy a variety of water sport activities.

4. Family Adventures

If you're looking for family adventures, we have a range of five star holiday parks in idyllic locations across the UK. Many are designed with families in mind and boast plenty of activities and entertainment on site. Parks without these facilities are located in excellent locations, so you won't have to travel far to find a fun-filled activity to put smiles on the little ones faces.  Take a look at our child friendly holiday park options and see what facilities you'd like to try out.

Much of Britain's spectacular coastline is open to walkers. Many places have long distance trails, covering almost the entire coastline. The new England Coast Path encompasses many of the regional coast paths and covers almost 3,000 miles. Split into long treks or smaller leisurely walks to enjoy during your stay. Some of our coastal holiday parks have direct access to coastal walking paths, so you won't have to travel far to take in stunning scenery en route.
