Dornafield Caravan and Camping Park near Ipplepen has been voted Best Overall Winner in the "Practical Caravan" Top 100 Parks awards for 2008.

At the National Boat, Caravan and Outdoor Show held at Birmingham's NEC the Dewhirst family were presented with this prestigious award by Nigel Donnelly, Editor of Practical Caravan, the leading magazine for caravanners.

Dornafield has for many years featured in the Top 100 sites, but this is the first year they have been not only regional winner, but also overall winner. Devon is by far the most difficult region to win as there are more nominations for sites in the county than anywhere else in the UK, reflecting the very high standard of caravan facilities in the area.

The award is particularly welcome as it is the only one of its kind determined by readers' votes and proves that the Dewhirsts have the winning formula for happy caravan holidays - not only a beautiful site with superb loos and showers but friendly and helpful staff who make all their guests feel at home.
