Sandy Balls Holiday Centre

Its three touring areas are all in close proximity to the central piazza – the heart of Sandy Balls – where onsite facilities include an indoor and outdoor swimming pool, pub and restaurant. The pitches, over 200 of them, are all hardstanding and have easy access to shower, toilet and laundry facilities.
Sandy Balls celebrated its 90th year in 2009 and has won a place in the hearts of many tourers and campers who return year on year to enjoy the unrivalled experience that the award-winning holiday centre provides. Its rich history as a family-owned business has helped develop the unique welcoming feel that’s obvious the moment you arrive.
The Centre’s dedication to helping the environment has won this Visit Britain 5* Park a number of green and quality-assessed tourism awards, ensuring that the natural settings of the Centre are preserved for visitors now and in years to come.
But it’s not just the friendly atmosphere that makes you feel at home: Sandy Balls’ immaculately maintained pitch facilities rank among the best and have won awards with hardstanding (flint gravel), water points, electricity and TV aerial plus nearby washing-up facilities, heated shower buildings, hand-driers, hair-driers and individual washing cubicles.
So what makes this place particularly special? Early mornings and incredible birdsong. Wake up in your caravan at dawn – at any time of year – and the birdsong is an amazing cacophony. Best pitches for dawn chorus are in The Orchard.
As well as its tranquil setting and resident wildlife, what also sets Sandy Balls apart from other parks is its array of activities. Every week there is a complete programme from archery competitions to walks around the 120 acre estate. And for the kids there’s a host of activities including crafts and games specially planned to keep them occupied for hours.
But what’s really great about the New Forest is its unique collection of wildlife and Sandy Balls is the ideal base for going out to explore the living landscape. The Cycle Centre has everything you need to discover the forest on two wheels so if bringing your own cycle isn’t convenient then you can hire one here for the duration of your stay. The biking experts can also get you on your way with suggested routes of varying difficulty taking you to some of the most scenic points in the New Forest.
The riding facilities available at Sandy Balls mean both novices and experienced riders alike can enjoy the sights and sounds of the forest from horseback while for those wanting to keep two feet on the ground a walk down the sloping banks towards the River Avon provides some truly breathtaking scenery. And if you’re in the mood for fishing, the river’s abundance of trout will more than satisfy an angler’s needs.
Back at the centre and more relaxing treat’s are in store. The hair & beauty suite offers a full range of pampering treatments. Then take a trip to the Country Store with its freshly baked croissants in the morning, choice of seasonal vegetables, essentials you may have left at home, or a special treat for your break away..
With such a lot to do at the Centre, it’s tempting to ignore the rest of the attractions this vibrant area has to offer. Like everything else Sandy Balls makes it easy offering a pre-booking service for attractions away from the park including Beaulieu Abbey and Motor Museum, Paultons Park and Exbury Gardens.

we spent the week before May bank holiday at this park it was a joy. peace and quiet and such wonderful surroundings. There was a rally the weekend we arrived but there was no problems at all we can't wait to return.
ideal for couples out of high season and wonderful for families all year round.
I am disabled and found the disabled facilities in this park were very clean they were heated which was a wonderful surprised and much appriecieted. Every thing was easiliy accessable on site although i have to admit at not being able to do the river walk it was just too steep.

my wife and I visitied this park this week and found it to be Clean, friendly and quite. The toilet block was heated and clean. the site is undergoing a complete rebuild at the moment and the power was out for a whole day but that is life and as the site is open all year somebody had to miss out on a day in the pool. The dog field is a joy, fully secure, with plenty of waste bins. all in all a great site with plenty to do and see.

This site has a great deal of facilities for your holiday, with a very nice pub within walking distance of the park.
The biggest let down for us & our friends was the cleanlyness of the toilets & showers. They only get cleaned once a day & even after they had been cleaned they looked dirty. They also wouldn't leave a mop & bucket out which we thought was standard practice.
Having been on other BOB sites that are 5* & managed to clean their toilets & showers twice a day & leave a mop & bucket to clean up after yourself. We couldn't understand why this site couldn't do the same?
