My wife and I have just spent a very enjoyable weekend at this park (12th Sept - 15th Sept 2008). This was the second time we had camped together since being teenagers, some years ago! We were very impressed with every member of staff - on arrival we were given our site documentation, which included a 'flyer' which contained events going on in a nearby town (just in case we wanted to make a visit, we did and had a very enjoyable day - thank you Janice!) Then taken to out pitch which was on level ground and had a 'hook up' within easy reach. The site itself is very clean and tidy with the toilets, showers and washing facilities second to none. The toilet/shower areas were cleaned regularly and even had piped music playing. I also saw a member of staff mopping the outside bin area and another cleaning the gaps between the pavement! The staff never stopped working yet were always ready with a happy, 'Hi!'. We will definately be returning to this site! I note that in the 'pull down menu' below, I can only recommend this site for one group. I have left it at 'family with children' the same for 'tourer/motorhomer', but would recommend it for all. Thank you everyone! After a massive recommendation from a brother who has been for years we went to Plassey with great expectations and were not disappointed at all! A fantastic site in beautiful surroundings. The facilities are fantastic and we managed camping with our little 7 month old girl perfectly thanks to those facilities. The staff were very friendly and helpful. You can ever walk the site perimeter with a pram (with a couple of lifts over stiles) and enjoy the local countryside. Definitely one to go back to time and time again - a wonderful site. I came to the Plassey for 10 days after Easter 2008. It was very peaceful with very pleasant surroundings. There are plenty of lovely shops on site and for those peaple with children it would be an ideal place to stay and a golfers and fishermans dream. There are several places to eat on site with the Shippon Restaurant the best ever. We will definitely be back and would recommend The Plassey to both families and couples alike. Best of British alright! Got the lot, bar, restaurant, cafe, shops, small garden centre, golf. First round I`ve ever played ,had to hire their clubs and shoes. They have also got a driving range. For the family with kids they have got pitch and putt, heated swimming pool, badmington, table tennis, games room, big play ground, and a big pond to feed the ducks. The nature trail I use for a nine minute run in the mornings, nice and quiet, about two miles ,two laps in 17.30 mins beat that! Good size pitches, flat ,toilets spotless. At 11pm the warden comes round, keeps it quiet. The staff are very helpful and friendly . Went twice in 2006 will go again ,great for long or short breaks. Nice and relaxing site. Great for our kids age four and six. Just returned from three nights at The Plassey - very surprised to see that all the pitches were taken at first, but soon became clear why. The site is very well managed and spotlessly clean. It stands in 250 acres with golf course, fishing ponds and woodland. There is everything on site that you need and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The Treetops licensed clubhouse is very welcoming and we enjoyed one of the best meals ever at the Shippon restaurant in the Craft Centre area. The town Wrexham itself is undergoing major redevopment and I would recommend anyone to keep away until it's completed - the traffic queues are horrendous. Once completed, it's supposed to be an excellent shopping centre. We have returned from our second trip to The Plassey, and would recomend it. In contrast to the other reviewer, rather than warning that there is an 11o'clock no noise rule, this is an absolute positive, and it was a lot quieter than other sites we have stayed at. The people there are very friendly and helpful, the pitches are clean, flat and spacious, and facilities excellent. Our kids loved the pool and play areas, and we hardly saw them. We will definately go again. 3 of 3 people found this helpful. Was this review helpful? 20 Nov 2004 - wingy715 (10) from Merseyside wrote I stayed at the park for 3 nights in August 2004. I was impressed by the cleanliness of the site, especially the toilet / shower blocks which were outstanding. The on site amusement arcade and games options kept my two boys ( 6 & 8 ) fully occupied throughout our stay. The on site shop is very handy and there is always the option of eating at the on site restaurants too. Beware that this is very much a family park and no noise is expected after 11pm ( a family was ejected from the park while we were there for breaking this rule ). The swimming pool is a wonderful feature but is too small to swim in once 20-30 kids are in it ! Overall rating - excellent and we can't wait to go back 2 or 3 times in 2005. 5 of 5 people found this helpful. Was this review helpful? |
