The Quiet Site

****O (3.8/5.0)
Picture of The Quiet Site, CumbriaThe Quiet Site is a family run site situated in a secluded
position amongst the stunning fells that overlook Lake
Ullswater. This is a superbly maintained and very
picturesque site, the facilities being housed mainly in old
converted farm buildings. There are many beautiful walks
that you can start from right outside the Quiet Site and
numerous activities and attractions a very short drive
away. The site is in an ideal position for touring
both the North and South Lakes by car.
We are easily accessible from the M6
motorway -junction 40 and the charming
market town of Penrith both of which are
only 7 miles away.
Its not surprising that 80% of our
visitors have stayed with us before !

If you are expecting a Best Of British 5* you will be disappointed. This site is a 3* at a pinch 3*+, certainly not a 5.Pitches are small and not serviced as a 5* and over priced.Chemical disposal did not flush, showers leaked in heavy rain.Last orders were called in the bar at 21:50 (high season) and we were ordered out at 22:10.

A brilliant location and lives up to its name as being the 'quiet' site.
The park staff are friendly and always willing to help and go that little extra that makes the holiday!
The park facilities are excellent with a converted barn bar and roaring open fire to warm the cockles after a day on the hills.
The individual bathrooms provide guests with that touch of luxury from home.
A site that is highly recommended and suitable for both families and couples be it for the local walking or other tourist activities.
The lack of commercialism on the site makes the quiet site in my opinion charming and unspoilt and supports the sites claim of being carbon neutral!
Lets have more like it throughout the country!
