Have just returned from a week at this site. We loved it, the facilities were excellant and the location was great. Very relaxing. We asked to be situatuted away from the lake (small children) and therefore had no problems with duck or geese noise. The produce from the farm shop was excellant and the staff very knowledgable. Staff advised us of places to go when it rained. Will go back Was this review helpful? 2 Jun 2007 - cpringle1965 (5) from SHROPSHIRE wrote Overall: Pitch (touring or tent) OR Accommodation (holiday home, chalet or lodge): Overall appearance of the park: Facilities provided by the park: Welcome/Customer Service:

Modern well appointed site with excellant facilities. However we phoned ahead and booked and when we arrived we were greeted with "we're not expecting you" After much shuffling of papers our booking was found, but no sorry, our mistake. We arrived on the Monday and all bins were overflowing. They were emptied on the wednesday. In the meantime any bags put out were ripped open by birds or foxes and contents were strewn. Site needs a resident warden in a caravan amongst the campers. Bins need to be emptied daily. Village of Pembridge is lovely, and the new inn is a treat. Very nice park with large pitches. The site does suffer from ducks - noise/poo. There is no play area for children or dog walks. The toilet block is modern but I found the lack of a cleaning and maintenance schedule was beginning to show. The showers do not regulate the water temperature accurately so you spend half the time dancing in and out of the spray. The butchers shop was handy. Also Morrison's supermarket was only 8 mile away in Leominster. I would rate this site as 85%. My Wife and I have just returned from 4 fab nights in August at Towsend Touring Park, Very peacful, Huge pitches. Total relaxation , the only slight issue for us was the water pressure in the showers & maybe the toilet / shower block should be checked more often , this is us being very picky the facilities block is ultra modern. Excellent farm shop helpful staff we will be back without a doubt when every we need to chill out this is just the place to be. Well maintained park, with an excellent farm shop. The products from the butchers were terrific The shower/toilet block is quite new and first class. Only problems were the geese/ducks squawking at the crack of dawn and the mess they leave on the pitches. I know its not as bad as dog mess but it is a problem when walking around your van or if you had children running around. We had a very enjoyable May Day,2006, bank holiday weekend. The Park is in a beautiful setting and the pitch was huge and well maintained. The choice of meats available at the butchers was of the highest standard. There was plenty to do locally with the numerous villages to explore. A cider mill and Croft Castle close was by too. We were disappointed that there wasn't a children’s play area as stated on the sites description page, our seven year old was particularly miffed! The goose that roams the site was rather noisy at night. But this did not spoil what was a very enjoyable couple of days. Was this review helpful? |
