Oakdown is an excellent park.On arrival we were taken and assisted on to our pitch, shown all facilities and even told where to point our TV aerial.Pitches are spacious, level and well maintained. Staff were friendly and very helpful.

We stayed at Oakdown for 4 days during 2004 and found it to be an excellent site the only downside for us was our car broke down, but on the plus side the site staff where very helpfuland stayed with us until we had a solution to the problem. The site and facilities where excellent and the added bonus of a pretty walk to the donkey sancturay was fab. All in all a great site for couples or families. 5***** . In contrast to the other reviewer ... to say the site is next to a busy road .... depends where you come from ... I live in a very quite road in the cotswold and I did'nt hear the road nether did my wife who is a very light sleeper... so maybe the other reviewer is lucky enough to hail from orkney .... otherwise the noise will not concern u you I am sure. Try this site is it a beauty.

This site was very clean and the facilities including shower block/washing were first class. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The walk to the Donkey Sanctuary avoiding roads was lovely and enjoyed by our children. The only negative comments we have is that the site was located next to a busy and noisy road and also I think the site would benefit from a shop selling milk, bread etc (although it is stated in the Best of British brochure that there is no shop on site). Unfortunately because of traffic noise from the road we will not return to Oakdown.
Response from Oakdown Touring & Holiday Caravan Park on 5 Jul 2006:
Dear Mrs Horton,
I am the Park Manager at Oakdown, I am very sorry to read that you have decided not to return to Oakdown, In defence I must say we do have many pitches that are further from the road and do not suffer from the same noise levels, you would be more than welcome to book a more sheltered pitch, as you can appreciate our location is a strong selling point and very often Parks with good access suffer in the same way, it's very difficult to find a balance.
