We have just spent another very relaxing and tranquil week here and we wanted to share our holiday experience with you - because this park delivers 'what it says on their tin'. Seclued position; beautifully maintained park and pitches and soltlessly clean toliet facilties - the needs of discerning camper have been thoughtfully anticipated and for us it makes it an irresistible holiday venue - this is a fifth visit! We were shocked to read the previous reviewers feedback - potholes and spiders! Where? All we can say is we had to summon up our willpower to leave - we left feeling revived and revitalised. Thank you for a great week - we'll be back...soon! Me and my husband are Best of British regulars. Each year we choose a BOB campsite because we have always been very impressed with them. We have just come back from 8 days camping at The Old Brick Kilns and I have to say we had a lovely time (it is a beautiful area) but I can't really recommend this site for campers. The unserviced pitch field is very sloping / undulating and full of potholes. Also just a mini gripe (as a bit of an arachnophobe) there are a lot of quite dusty cobwebs around the light fittings in the shower block - nothing a feather duster wouldn't fix though! On the positive side I think it is probably a lovely site for caravanners though and the owners are extremely friendly and helpful. Sorry if this just sounds like a big moan, really this only applies to people who like flat pitches for their tents and who aren't afraid of spiders!! Overall we had a lovely time. Our second adventure into caravanning was at Easter 2007, the first being in autumn 2006 at Keswick (camping and caravan club). That was really good but this site was outstanding. The consideration and help given the quality of the site and facilities (excluding the WiFi) were wonderful. Thank you all for an excellent holiday. We have since been elsewhere but will be back in July. My only apology is for Ben who kept barking... We hope that you will still have him back. Well we have been away again. This time we came to the Norfolk area and we could not have wished to find a better campsite. Dispite the fact that the rain had poured and poured the site was well kept and the welcome was well up to that expected from a good quality best of british campsite. The shop was well stocked. There are only nice memories of our stay at this site. While we were there the noise level was wonderful as the noisiest things in the area was the birds. If you are in the area a site well worth staying at. Response from The Old Brick Kilns Caravan & Camping Park on 6 Aug 2007: Thank you for your positive comments about our Park. We do try very hard to maintain a high standard, and your review makes all our efforts seem worthwhile. Thanks, John, Alison & the team 2 of 2 people found this helpful. Stayed at this park from 15.7 to 25.7. We were very impressed by the warm welcome on arrival at reception and by the fact that the caravan was put on to the pitch by John and his tractor. The park was immaculately clean despite the recent horrendous weather. We saw pictures of the flooding of 4 weeks prior to our visit, and were surprised that the site had drained as well. We discovered that this was due in no small measure to the amount of work put in by John and his team. The owners and the other staff in reception and in the park were all very nice people who made every effort to ensure the holiday was most enjoyable. Altogether, it is a simple task to thoroughly recommend this park. Response from The Old Brick Kilns Caravan & Camping Park on 29 Jul 2007: Just to say thank you so much for your positive comments. We also enjoyed your company and look forward to meeting you again in the future. Regards Alison 1 of 1 people found this helpful. We found this to be a very well run and maintained site. The owners were very helpful and friendly. The park is ideally situated for exploring north and east Norfolk. The toilet and shower facilities are well maintained. If a quiet relaxing break is what you are after this is the place for you and one to which we shall return. 3 of 3 people found this helpful. I have now stayed at this park three times in past two years but only became aware of the B.O.B web site from the owner on site who informed me about the special offers etc. I have to say that this park is very conveniently located for visiting the whole of North Norfolk. It is always very clean and tidy and the toilets block rates as one of the best I have visited it is rare in the GENTS LOO to find private sinks for washing and shaving very civilised together with underfooor heating in the showers. Overall it is very difficult to find any fault with this site . The restaurant and bar is extremely convenient clean well presented and a joy to enter. The Beers pretty good as well !!!!!!!! I think what sets this site ahead of most of the others around the country that I have visited is the welcome given to you on arrival by the owners , always smiling pleasant and well mannered even when they are under a lot of pressure . They both have excellent interpersonal skills a gift that unfortunately many people in some reception areas dont have. I would strongly recommend this site to everyone especially dog owners as the management on site like dogs and make them welcome as well . A pleasure to return there .Next visit I will take my fishing rods and use the lake to try my luck. Faultless site no adverse comments to make. Look forward to next year and my return there. 7 of 7 people found this helpful. Was this review helpful? |
